Bridges have very cool acoustic properties. It makes all those who go under it larger than life. When my oldest goes under any bridge she mostly shouts to hear the resonance and echoes. This was under a train bridge near the Battersea train station. So above trains thunder through or plonk to a stop. Under trucks and cars hiss and screech. If we listen hard enough we can hear the footsteps of people.
