K2 is 2. She knows a bit. She knows there’s a swing and she responds quite simply. K1 is 7. She knows much more. She has many more memories and therefore compares various experiences and has to negotiate many more things. So she helps K1 and then goes and finds her own swing and then compares another swing experience. Though K2’s simple evocative response can easily be forgotten as she grows and most of us do seem to forget simple, joyous exclamations, it can be reclaimed. It needn’t be lost.
